Lets recap the AMAZING week we had.....

2025 CITC Boiler Swim.

The Thursday afternoon 800 meter swim around the RMS Maitai (which sunk in Avarua Harbour in 1916) is always a great introduction to the festival. This swim gives athletes the chance to acclimatise to our warm tropical waters, to meet old friends and make new ones, especially with the Awards and Welcome Dinner Feast at the Edgewater Resort & Spa post swim!

Brilliant conditions for the swim this year and some fast times.

2025 Air New Zealand Rarotonga International Triathlon.

Is there a better swim in triathlon anywhere in the world? We don’t think so.

Amazing race conditions for the Saturday afternoon 1.5km swim, 42km bike and 10km run with a great race at all levels.

Carl and Olivia Ritchie adding their names (Olivia for the third consecutive time) to an illustrious list of winners in the 31 year event history!

During the swim leg, Rob Dallimore lost his very precious signet ring and thought there's no way he would ever see it again. Whilst chatting to others about the race and the fact that he had lost the ring local athlete Olivia Postrzygacz overheard him and said, "this ring?" As it turned out, Olivia was probably about 30 seconds behind Rob when he lost the ring. She had noticed it perched on the reef, and without breaking stroke, grabbed it and tucked it in her tri-suit.

Awards Dinner

On Sunday evening we had the Air New Zealand Rarotonga International Triathlon Awards hosted by our fantastic sponsor Edgewater Rarotonga Resort and Spa. So good to celebrate everyone achievements and to have even more time to discuss race stories and tactics for Tuesday’s Ride Rarotonga Tour de Raro! A fantastic spread as always, that desert selection was exceptional especially the Bombe Alaska!

2025 Hash House Harriers

On Monday afternoon we had a great turnout for the Rarotonga chapter of Hash House Harrier Run. A great event that all the family can be part of and another chance to meet more locals who put on a great spread! On On.

Ride Rarotonga Tour de Raro Road Race.

The Tour de Raro took place on Tuesday afternoon with a good wind that didn't offer any support at any point on the 31km circumnavigation of the island! Another fast paced ride with a tight finish at the front of the field with Rob Dallimore taking out the men’s race and local Alyce Nicholson winning the women’s.
