2027 Rarotonga International Triathlon — Registrations Now Open

Set in the heart of the South Pacific, the Rarotonga International Triathlon is a week-long festival of sport, culture, and community. Swim through crystal-clear lagoon waters, cycle the island's dramatic coastal road with the Pacific Ocean as your backdrop, and run beneath swaying palms past some of the world's most pristine beaches.

The all-inclusive entry fee covers every event across the festival week, all meals, and your race pack.

The Race — Olympic Distance

Begin with a 1.5km swim through Rarotonga's famous lagoon, its turquoise waters warm and calm inside the reef. Take to the bike for 42km on the island's coastal road — a circuit that delivers ocean views at every turn. Finish with a 10km run through the island's villages and beachfront, crossing the line in one of the most spectacular race settings in the world.

CITC Boiler Swim — 800m Ocean Swim Kick off the festival with an 800m open water swim in the warm waters of the Pacific, navigating around the iconic Boiler — a shipwreck landmark that sits proudly above the surface just outside the reef. Open to all swimmers, this is a stunning introduction to race week and a serious warm-up for what's to come. Prizegiving and the main event race briefing follow over a carbo-loading pasta dinner that evening.

Island Feast & Prizegiving Celebrate the main event over a festive island dinner. Medals, memories, and a few well-earned stories.

Hash Harriers Fun Run & BBQ The Rarotonga Hash House Harriers take you off the beaten track for a 5km run through the island's interior — trails, bush, and a pace that suits everyone. Back at the finish, a BBQ and fresh salads await. One of the week's most social evenings.

Ride Raro Tour de Raro — 32km Island Circuit A full lap of Rarotonga on two wheels. Fast and competitive for those chasing a time, relaxed and scenic for those who aren't. Open to all riders, the coastal circuit is as beautiful as it is challenging. Prizegiving, a closing BBQ, and the final ceremony wrap up an unforgettable week.
